My Healing Journey
When my husband died by suicide in 2021 my world was turned upside down.
Group therapy helped me survive the initial tidal wave of grief, but it wasn’t until I experienced Reiki as a client and started learning everything I could about the connection between energy healing, somatic experiencing, and nervous system regulation that I began to truly heal myself.
Energy healing allowed me to gently work through my grief and years of accumulated survival stress. With curiosity, I began reconnecting with my truest Self.
I also knew that I needed time to achieve this.
I quit my job of nearly two decades as a high school English teacher and fully devoted myself to self-healing. Although scary at times, it was during this transformative period that I experienced a spiritual reawakening.
In returning to self, I began to embrace my intuitive gifts as a healer.
As a child I practiced meditation and spent many hours immersed in nature. I was deeply connected to myself, my surroundings, and I frequently had spiritual experiences.
As I got older, like so many of us, I began to doubt my own inner voice and internal compass. When I received intuitive information, I often pushed that knowing aside, uncomfortable with what it might mean or say about me. However,
After my husband’s passing it became impossible to ignore my truth.
As an educator, I come to Reiki energy healing with vast experience connecting with others and tailoring my lessons to meet the individual needs of my students. I bring this individualized focus to each of my clients as well as my Reiki students. I also know how powerful energy work can be, as it has personally guided me on my own healing journey through significant trauma—back to Self.
