What is Reiki?

Reiki is a therapeutic energy healing modality that promotes stress reduction and relaxation.

“Rei”, meaning universal, captures the integral connection between mind, body, and spiritual consciousness. The word “Ki”—sometimes called “Chi”, “Prana” or one’s “biofield”—is life force energy.

During a session, Reiki practitioners channel this life force energy through their palms in order to promote optimal energetic flow.

Using a series of gentle hand placements, on or slightly above the body, practitioners are able to guide energy. Lying down fully clothed on a massage table or sitting up comfortably, clients often experience a feeling of warmth as energy moves through the body, restoring and balancing the biofield.

People often comment on how comforting they find the Reiki experience to be. During a session, clients frequently feel as if they are hovering between states of consciousness, simultaneously aware of their surroundings, while also experiencing a deep, meditative state. At times, the experience of Reiki can be dramatic, while at other times, it can be more subtle. Similar to other healing modalities, Reiki is often cumulative, allowing clients to have progressively deeper experiences as they continue.

Reiki can reduce physical pain and discomfort while also improving overall emotional and spiritual well-being. Many clients report significant health benefits including experiencing better sleep, better digestion, fewer headaches, and feeling more grounded and centered throughout their day.

Reiki is a safe and non-invasive practice that complements traditional medical treatments. Reiki energy healing is ideal for anyone looking to feel better—physically and emotionally—and for individuals interested in gaining a deeper understanding of Self.
